Humidity Monitoring System

Online environmental humidity monitoring with combined temperature-humidity linked alerts to protect materials and storage environments

Solution Overview

Real-time online environmental humidity monitoring with temperature-humidity linked alerts. Records environmental changes in real time. Suitable for laboratories, warehouses, and livestock sheds to prevent material loss from excessive or insufficient humidity.

Problems Solved

Humidity issues discovered only afterwards

Moisture damage, condensation, and mold are found only after loss has occurred, with no process data to support insurance claims or upstream accountability.

Temperature and humidity need to be viewed together

A single humidity metric is prone to false positives. Combined temperature-humidity boundary crossings (e.g. high humidity + high temperature) are the true risk conditions.

Regulatory and audit requirements demand traceability

Laboratories, pharmaceutical, and food storage require continuous, exportable environmental records — manual logs are hard to self-certify.

Traditional Solution vs ZHIYUAN AIoT

TraditionalZHIYUAN AIoT
Alert MethodFixed threshold alerts: only fire at limit crossings, blind to slow degradation. A single fault floods dozens of useless alerts, burying real risks.AI time-series anomaly detection: learns each device's baseline, catches slow drift and hidden anomalies. 80% fewer false alarms, alerts routed to the right people.
Notification & ClosurePhone calls/group chat: alerts dumped in chat, who handles what? Night alerts buried, discovered next day.WeCom/SMS graded push + work order automation: graded, person-specific routing. Unacknowledged alerts auto-escalate. Full traceability: alert → work order → resolution → archive.
Integration & RetrofittingCostly retrofit & downtime: new monitoring needs rewiring, equipment swap, production stoppage — long cycle, lost output.Reuse existing sensors, plug & go live: compatible with 95% DTUs/sensors. MQTT/Modbus standard protocols. No production line changes — 30-minute data integration.
Data ValueReal-time only, no history: manual logs capture instant values only — no trend visibility, can't replay fault evolution.Time-series database + history replay: massive long-term storage, any-range curve playback with work order records to reconstruct full fault picture and continuously improve O&M strategy.

Key Features

  • Synchronized temperature-humidity acquisition

One device reports both temperature and humidity, avoiding data sync issues between two separate systems.

  • Combined condition linked alerts

Supports rules like "humidity above limit AND temperature above X", reducing false alarms.

  • Condensation risk alerts

Dew point trend calculated from temperature-humidity; prompts ventilation or dehumidification before condensation conditions are reached.

  • Zoned dashboard

Grouped display by warehouse, floor, or shed zone, with abnormal zones auto-pinned to top.

  • Continuous recording and export

Auto-generates daily/monthly reports, exportable as audit materials.

Data Collection & Alerting Specs

Collected Data

  • Relative humidity
  • Ambient temperature
  • Dew point trend
  • Sensor power and online status

Alert Types

  • Humidity above/below limits
  • Combined temperature-humidity boundary crossing
  • Rate of change too fast
  • Sensor offline

Alerts pushed to Web dashboard and WeCom; SMS as optional add-on. Same-type alerts auto-merged for noise reduction.

Deployment & Billing

Deployment
Use mainstream integrated temperature-humidity sensors + DTU connection. Expanding points only requires adding probes — platform-side configuration via point table is sufficient.
Billing
Licensed by monitoring points; multi-warehouse/multi-park can be managed with tenant-separated accounts.

FAQ

How much area can one probe cover?

Depends on space ventilation and height. Typically one point per 50–100 m² for standard warehouses, with additional points in dead-air zones and near doors. We provide placement recommendations after a site survey.

Too many humidity alerts disrupting on-duty staff?

The platform supports delayed confirmation (alert only after continuous over-limit for a period), combined conditions, and alert convergence to filter out short-term fluctuations like door opening/closing, only pushing events that truly need attention.
