Energy IoT (Water, Electricity, Gas)

Automatic water, electricity, and gas meter reading, energy anomaly and leak detection, energy-saving analysis reports

Solution Overview

Automatic collection of water, electricity, and gas meter data. Energy consumption statistical reports, AI identification of energy anomalies and leaks. Supports enterprise energy-saving and refined energy management.

Problems Solved

Manual meter reading is delayed and doesn't reconcile

Monthly reading only gives totals. Anomalies are discovered only after charges are incurred. Difficult to verify allocation accuracy.

Off-hours and night consumption unmanaged

Elevated base-load typically means gas leaks, water leaks, or equipment left running. Hard to catch through manual checks alone.

Itemized energy consumption unclear

Without per-workshop or per-system itemized data, energy-saving retrofits cannot be quantified, leaving investment decisions to guesswork.

Traditional Solution vs ZHIYUAN AIoT

Alert MethodFixed threshold alerts: only fire at limit crossings, blind to slow degradation. A single fault floods dozens of useless alerts, burying real risks.AI time-series anomaly detection: learns each device's baseline, catches slow drift and hidden anomalies. 80% fewer false alarms, alerts routed to the right people.
Notification & ClosurePhone calls/group chat: alerts dumped in chat, who handles what? Night alerts buried, discovered next day.WeCom/SMS graded push + work order automation: graded, person-specific routing. Unacknowledged alerts auto-escalate. Full traceability: alert → work order → resolution → archive.
Integration & RetrofittingCostly retrofit & downtime: new monitoring needs rewiring, equipment swap, production stoppage — long cycle, lost output.Reuse existing sensors, plug & go live: compatible with 95% DTUs/sensors. MQTT/Modbus standard protocols. No production line changes — 30-minute data integration.
Data ValueReal-time only, no history: manual logs capture instant values only — no trend visibility, can't replay fault evolution.Time-series database + history replay: massive long-term storage, any-range curve playback with work order records to reconstruct full fault picture and continuously improve O&M strategy.

Key Features

  • Multi-type meter automatic reading

Electricity, water, and gas meters read via pulse / RS485 / remote protocols, replacing manual reading.

  • Itemized and zoned statistics

Build energy ledgers by zone, system, or team, supporting YoY/MoM comparison and unit consumption calculations.

  • Abnormal energy identification

Detects off-hours base-load anomalies, sudden usage spikes, and persistent imbalance (leak clues).

  • Meter reading and allocation reports

Auto-generate monthly reports and internal settlement allocation tables, exportable for immediate use.

  • Linked with equipment monitoring

Same platform correlates equipment operational data to pinpoint which device caused an energy anomaly.

Data Collection & Alerting Specs

Collected Data

  • Electricity meter forward active energy, demand
  • Water meter cumulative flow
  • Gas meter cumulative flow
  • Pulse and instantaneous flow
  • Meter online status

Alert Types

  • Meter offline
  • Off-hours energy anomaly
  • Daily usage YoY spike
  • Prolonged non-zero base-load (suspected leak)
  • Meter reading data spike

Alerts pushed to Web dashboard and WeCom; SMS as optional add-on. Same-type alerts auto-merged for noise reduction.

Deployment & Billing

Deployment
Meters with existing pulse output or remote interfaces are directly collected; meters without remote interfaces add pulse acquisition modules. Whether water/power can stay on during construction depends on site conditions.
Billing
Subscription by meter count. Campuses and groups can generate separate reports per zone/tenant.

FAQ

Old mechanical meters without remote interfaces — what then?

A pulse acquisition module or reading recognition module can be added to convert them into collectible points without full meter replacement. Specific selection depends on meter type and on-site installation conditions.

Can the system directly calculate how much electricity cost is saved?

The system provides true baselines for itemized consumption and anomaly lists. Energy-saving benefits need to be calculated by comparing pre- and post-retrofit data for the same period. We provide before-and-after comparison data by report specification but make no unsupported energy-saving percentage claims.
