Privacy-safe file prep for ecommerce catalogs
Privacy-safe file prep means processing catalog images and CSVs in the browser, dropping personal columns, and not sending customer data to a random host.
Catalog files are not customer files
Product CSVs need SKU, title, price, Handle and image URLs. They do not need shopper emails, phone numbers, order notes or ID photos. If an export mixed those columns in, delete them before you format, translate or share the sheet. Image tools are for packshots, not passport scans.
Prefer in-browser processing
CrossKit CSV Formatter, Image Compressor and Image Resizer are built for catalog work in the browser so you are not installing a folder of tools on every laptop or parking a full catalog on a host you do not control. Close the tab when you finish. This is operational hygiene, not a compliance certificate or a star rating.
Shares, backups and filenames
Work on a copy of the last good export. Do not put customer names in image filenames. Do not paste internal cost sheets into a public listing CSV. If you use a short link or UTM on a product URL, that is campaign metadata—not a reason to attach a customer list to the same file.
What CrossKit will not do
These tools do not publish to marketplaces, do not sell your catalog, and do not invent user counts. Read the tool page privacy note for current processing behavior. If a file is not a product image or a product table, do not drop it into a catalog tool.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I include customer emails to “personalize” a catalog?
No. Personalization belongs in your ESP, not in a product import file that many teammates will download.
Is in-browser processing the same as “we never see files”?
Read the current tool privacy note. The practice here is: do not upload customer PII to a catalog tool, and prefer local browser steps for images and CSVs you can keep on disk.
Can CSV Formatter remove PII automatically?
It formats catalog columns. You still choose which columns to keep. Delete personal fields before you share the file.
